Customs officers of Tashkent city customs administration exposed attempts to import goods worth 9.1 billion UZS without paying customs duties

In particular, during the operation carried out by the staff of the Tashkent city customs administration at the customs post of foreign economic activity "Chukursoy", the cargo in a railway container addressed to one of the limited liability companies of the country was inspected in the prescribed manner.

As a result, among the cargo in the container were 5300 umbrellas, more than 251 thousand lanterns, 3.5 mln. balloons for kids and 10,900 LED lights not mentioned in the transportation docs.

The total value of these goods is about 9.1 billion soums. By smuggling them out of customs control, cargo owners wanted to "save" 2.8 billion UZS which should be payed to the budget.

An investigation is underway.
