The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan is fallowed to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Customs Service”, other legislative acts, as well as international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The supreme body of the State Customs Committee is the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan as the executive branch of the republic, which provides guidance for the effective functioning of the economic, social and cultural spheres, the implementation of laws and other decisions of the Oliy Majlis, decrees, resolutions and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

The Cabinet of Ministers carries out its activities in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan” of 6 May 1993, No. 818-XII.

The Cabinet of Ministers manages the system of government administration bodies and the system of self-governing bodies of economic management, ensures their coordinated work.

The Cabinet of Ministers has the right to resolve all issues of state and economic management belonging to the Republic of Uzbekistan, which are within its competence in accordance with the Constitution and Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Cabinet has the right to initiate a legislative initiative.

The Cabinet of Ministers is based on the principles of collective leadership, democracy and the rule of law, the interests of all nations and nationalities living in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Cabinet of Ministers issues decrees and resolutions that are binding on all citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, executives, enterprises, organizations, associations and bodies in accordance with current legislation.

Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of a regulatory nature are published in the collection of Resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The media should be used immediately if necessary.

The Cabinet of Ministers is the founder of the “Pravda Vostoka” newspapers, as well as the “Xalq sozi” and “Narodnoe slovo”.
