Customs regulations for individuals entering the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan

If you are entering the Republic of Uzbekistan, keep in mind the following customs rules!

If you are traveling to our country by international airports, you can import commodities equivalent or less than $ 2,000 US dollars, $ 1,000 by rail and river crossings, and $ 300 if you travel by car or on foot!

At the same time, they are not required to be exhibited in the passenger customs declaration. However, there are limited modes of duty-free import of certain types of goods. In particular, you can import to Uzbekistan alcoholic beverages, including beer - up to 2 liters, all kinds of tobacco products - up to 10 packages, perfumery and perfumed liquids - up to 3 pieces, precious metal and jewelry made of precious stones - up to 65 gr.

Please note that it is not allowed to import materials such as narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, precursors, explosives and detonators, and any other types of materials that propagandizing terrorism, violence, extremism, pornography, etc., as well as ethyl alcohol, laser beam, filters, pyrotechnic products, drones, cash-generated coupling machines, motor vehicles of category M2, M3 and N2, new vehicles that do not relates to the requirements of the Euro-3 ecological class, and can be fitted with gasoline or diesel fuel It is forbidden to import household appliances belonging to Classes G and F and energy-saving bulkheads with a capacity of more than 40 watts to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

When importing the ozone depleting substances and their derivatives, explosives for industrial purposes, aluminum powder and its components, firearms and ammo, wild plants and their parts, fruits, seeds and botanical collections, wild animals and their parts, zoological collections, , spoils, overalls, radio-electronic means and high-frequency equipment, ecologically hazardous products and waste, religious literature and cultural values appropriate permits or conclusions of the competent bodies are required.

There is also a procedure for individuals to import cash foreign and national currency. Individuals may import into the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan unlimited amount of cash foreign currency. If cash foreign currency is more than $ 2,000, the passenger should fully cover it in the customs declaration.

It is allowed for individuals to import a sum of national currency “UZS” in the amount of not more than 50 times the minimum monthly wage.

The norms of customs clearance of certain goods by individuals were approved.

 On June 22, 2018 the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 463 “On Additional Measures to Improve the Procedure for the Transfer of Goods by Individuals to the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted. The Resolution establishes quantitative norms for the transfer of certain goods, which are not subject to customs duties through the highways (passenger), railways and river crossings of the State border of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 16, 2018, the corresponding amendments were made. So, nowadays, the frequency of deliveries of some goods that are not subject to customs duties through the highways, railways and river crossings of the State border of the Republic of Uzbekistan has changed.

Now 20 types of household appliances, office equipment and other equipment can now be imported only once per 6 months when crossing the border for the first time.

Other types of goods are permitted to import up to 2 kg (not including indivisible goods) of each name for 1 calendar month. However, the total weight of these goods should not exceed 10 kg.

It should not be forgotten that these goods do not include goods listed in Annex I of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to regulate the movement of goods through the customs border by individuals” dated February 6, 2018, PD-3512.

This appendix includes importing alcoholic beverages, including beer - up to 2 liters, all kinds of tobacco products - up to 10 pieces, perfumes and perfumed liquids - up to 3 pieces, precious metals and precious stones - 65 gr without customs payments.

The value of the exported goods should not exceed the limits set by the customs authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the passage of goods to the Republic by individuals in cars, railways or river crossings.

These rules are laid down in the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № PR-3512 from February 6, 2018 “On measures to regulate the movement of goods through the customs border by individuals”, according to which it is allowed to import goods when crossing the customs border through customs checkpoints at the cost of US $ 1,000 by railway, up to $ 300 when crossing on foot without any customs payment to the Republic of Uzbekistan Access duties.

Please note that the quantitative norms for the conveyance of goods without payment of customs duties will be applied for the first time during the period from the border crossing point of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In this case, the customs officers shall be based on the date on which the border service authorities issue a passport of a natural person.
