Transportation of medicines through the customs border of the Republic of Uzbekistan by physical entities

Phisical entities are permitted to import and export medicines and medical items in the following cases without state registration and customs clearance if they:

are intended for personal use by phisical entities at the time of staying in the country;

Patient living outside the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and beyond its borders is intended for treatment within the treatment course on the basis of a medical certificate approved by the medical-prophylactic institution;

are intended for personal use by diplomatic and administrative personnel of diplomatic representations and their equivalent offices, including family members living with them;

ares intended for provision of first medical aid to passengers of means of transport entering the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan or leaving its territory, and included in the package of medicines of the vehicle;

It is intended for treatment of participants of international scientific, cultural, sports events and participants of international expeditions in the Republic of Uzbekistan and abroad.

At the same time, medicines and medical itemes should be used only for personal use and should not be used for medical assistance provided for individuals and not be sold to other persons.

Medicines below are permitted to import and export for personal use of individuals without submitting a document issued by a health institution of the country of residence or stay:

  • medicines containing up to 10 drugs of different names and not more than 5 packages for each of them;
  • Medical supplies of not more than 5 units.
  • In one package:
  • For hard medicinal forms (tablets, granules, powders, capsules) - not more than 100 units;

for powders used for solution preparation - not more than 500 grams;

  • for homeopathic medicines of granular form - not more than 50 grams;
  • for infusion solutions and oral solutions - not more than 500 milliliters;

   injection solutions - no more than 10 ampoules or 10 vials;

  • For external medicines - not more than 200 milliliters or more than 200 grams.

Medicines and medical products must be in the manufacturer’s packaging.

At import and export of medicines in quantity over, than above mentioned, physical entities submit to customs authorities the document issued by medical institution of the country of residence or stay to the specific physical person with indication of the name of the medicine intended for its personal use, its dosage form and the recommended quantity on the course of treatment.

Import and export of limited quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances on sea (river) vessels, aircraft of international communication for first aid are carried out without a license in compliance with the control measures defined by the legislation of the state where the relevant vehicles are registered.

The order of import and export of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for personal use by physical entities.

The import and export of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for personal use by physical entities is carried out in accordance with the lists approved by the Resolution of Cabinet of Ministers dated 2015, 12 November № 330.

Export of drugs in the quantities which are not exceeding 7 daily requirements in the presence of the conclusion of the medical Advisory Commission of the medical institution certified by the seal is allowed.

It is allowed to import narcotic drugs in quantities not exceeding 7 daily needs, if there are documents issued by the medical institution of the country of residence or stay confirming the recommended amount for the course of treatment.

It is allowed to import and export psychotropic substances by individuals for personal use without presenting a document issued by a medical institution of the country of residence or stay, in the amount of up to 5 medicines of different names and no more than two packages of each of them, within the course of treatment.

When crossing the customs border at checkpoints, individuals are required to declare the presence of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, while for narcotic drugs — to submit to the customs authority a document issued by a medical institution of the country of residence or stay of an individual, indicating the name of the drug, its dosage form and the recommended amount for the course of treatment.

Customs authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure control availability of the documents issued by medical institution and compliance of the data specified in them to names and quantities of drugs and psychotropic substances which are at the physical person.

In case of exceeding by physical persons of the names and quantity of the drugs and psychotropic substances specified in the document issued by medical institution and declared to customs authority, the surplus is subject to withdrawal and destruction in accordance with the established procedure.
