Employees of the Tashkent city customs administration in cooperation with the State Security Service held an emergency operation in Sergeli district of Tashkent.

At the event, the "Matiz" car driven by citizen R.T. was stopped and examined in the presence of witnesses. During the search, it was discovered that there was a box belonging to A.D., a citizen who was traveling as a passenger in the car and which contained drugs wrapped in 5 packages.

According to the examination, the drugs in these packages were found to be 3 kg 928 gr. of opium and 2 kg 873 gr. of hashish.

During the operation, more than 6 kg 800 gr of drugs were seized.

A criminal case has been filed by the customs authorities.

During the past period of 2021, in 124 cases of violations detected by customs officers of the country in cooperation with representatives of other law enforcement agencies, the illicit trafficking of drugs weighing more than 65 kg was stopped.
