510 gr of jewelry made of gold were hidden under a fur coat and socks

A case of illegal import of jewelry was revealed at the "Gishtkuprik" border customs post of the Tashkent regional customs administration.

The suspicious behavior of a pedestrian caught the attention of customs officials. The woman was then subjected to customs control using a human body scanner.

Scanner images showed the woman had 51 rings and 59 pairs of earrings hidden between the linings of her fur coat, as well as 90 pairs of earrings inside her socks. The plan of the offender to secretly move 510 gr. of gold jewelry for 158 million soums did not work.

According to the current regulations, individuals are allowed to export ready-made jewelry worth more than $ 5,000 out of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a passenger's customs declaration.

At present, the customs authorities are investigating the case.
