Customs officers seized medicines of unknown quality worth 2.4 billion soums transported on four cars.

In particular, officers of the department for Combating smuggling and customs violations of the Tashkent Regional Customs administration, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, seized a large amount of drugs in Bektemir district.

During an operational event four cars were examined in prescribed manner.

As a result, it was found that there were 13 types of drugs for oncological and other diseases and drivers did not have any relevant documents confirming the quality and customs clearance of them.

During the investigations it became clear that all the drugs in the vehicles belonged to citizen O.D..

According to preliminary estimates, the total cost of illegally imported drugs was about 2 billion 115 million soums.

In another case revealed by regional customs officers in the Tashkent district, a vehicle driven by citizen S.P. was examined in the prescribed manner and with the participation of witnesses.

As a result, it was discovered that 1087 types of biologically active additives and medicines for 242 million soums were stored in the salon and luggage of the car.

Customs authorities are currently investigating these cases.
