Drones that “flew” from abroad “landed” at the airport

In particular, the baggage of citizen J.Ya., who arrived at the Tashkent International Airport on the Istanbul-Tashkent route, was subject to customs inspection in the established manner with the participation of witnesses.

As a result of the inspection, one "Corby Drones" unmanned aerial vehicle was discovered, for the import of which, the citizen did not have the necessary permissive documents.

At the moment, investigative measures are being taken on this fact of the offense.

We remind you, according to Article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 5364 dated May 2, 2019 “On Amendments and Additions to the Criminal, Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility”, the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan was supplemented by article 244establishing criminal liability for the illegal import, transfer, acquisition, storage or use of unmanned aerial vehicles. This change will enter into force on November 4, 2019.
