It was noted at the meeting that by the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev in recent years the relations between Uzbekistan and China in trade-economic, investment, financial, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres have been intensifying.

The foreign trade turnover between the two countries in 2018 was 1.9 billion. During the first four months of 2019, about $837 million.

Cooperation within the "One Space, One Way" initiative plays an important role in strengthening trade and investment relations and encouraging the creation of new transport and logistics corridors. Within the framework of the project, the Uzbek side is pushing for the development of the "green economy". This leads to free access of fruits and vegetables grown in our country to Chinese markets.

The Customs Services of two countries has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding on information exchange of Customs statistics and the Protocol on the establishment of information exchange between the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China.

The agenda of the meeting was the full implementation of the terms of the cooperation reflected in these documents.

At the meeting, the Chinese side was highly appreciated to equip border customs posts of the Republic of Uzbekistan with modern inspection equipment, including scanning complexes for large-size trucks.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of creating favorable conditions for the Uzbek national carriers in China, the elimination of the problems arising in the transit of cargoes on the territory of this country on the basis of the requirements of the International Customs Convention.

After the meeting, guests visited the Customs History Museum of the State Customs Committee. Mr. Li Guo left his autograph in the book "Honorable Guests".


In the second half of the day, the delegation visited customs post "Chuqursoy" in Tashkent, where they got acquainted with the process of implementation of customs expertise for participants of foreign economic activity.

During the visit, the guests also visited the Peng-Sheng joint venture located in the Sirdarya Free Economic Zone. This enterprise, which is one of the largest projects of the People's Republic of China in Uzbekistan, was founded in 2009, and its founding company has established several joint ventures in Sirdarya region and have created more than 1,500 jobs.
