The same had been noted during the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Sureyya Er, at the State Customs Committee On February 27, 2019.
During the conversation, the guests were informed about the reforms in the customs sector over the past two years.
The sides also discussed key issues of cooperation between the customs services of Uzbekistan and Turkey.
Collaboration between Uzbekistan and Turkey's customs services is based on the Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in the Field of Customs, signed on 18 November 1997 in Ankara.
Under this agreement, customs authorities of both countries are now able to identify customs violations through mutual inquiries.
Signing of the Protocol on the Establishment of the Customs Council between the Customs Service of Uzbekistan and Turkey within the framework of the visit of Turkish President Rajab Toyib Erdoğan to our Republic in April of 2018 plays an important role in expanding bilateral cooperation.
The main focus of the meeting was the signing of an agreement on the exchange of statistical data in the field of foreign trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey, initiated by the State Customs Committee in the shortest possible time.
The meeting was open and constructive.
At the end of the event, the Ambassador got acquainted with the Customs History Museum of the State Customs Committee and wrote an his impressions on the Book of Honorable Guests.
